Funny, isn't it.
Such seemingly insignificant issues can seem insurmountable.
A small inconvenience, an ocean of sorrow. A minute less than what was expected, the world's end. A year without buying the latest version, I've been left behind. Having to wear the same clothes within 3 weeks, what will everybody think of me.
A person without a place to stay, probably lying. A body hanging from a tree, it couldn't be. A child without food, someone else's problem. What remains of a thinking, feeling person on display in the street, probably deserved it. A country devoid of clean water, they should work on that. A world suffering the effects of rapid climate change, somebody should fix that.
These are the thoughts that enable us to look away; convince ourselves it'll be dealt with. We can be complicit, no longer. We must unite.
